Belarus President Alexander Lukasheno says that there will be no new election done 'untill you kill me' as protesters rally against strongman.

The embattled leader – known as ‘Europe’s last dictator’ – is facing the biggest challenge to his 26-year rule amid a wave of protests sparked by his re-election on August 9.


Belarus' embattled President Alexander Lukashenko has declared that the country will not have new elections "until you kill me," according to videos posted online by local news outlets.

Lukashenko made the comments while visiting a Minsk factory Monday, where he was booed and a group of workers chanted "Leave!" in unison. It's yet another sign that the strongman's traditional support base is crumbling after he claimed victory in disputed elections earlier this month.
"You talk about dishonest elections and want to hold new elections," Lukashenko told the crowd. "My response to this — we held the elections and until you kill me, there won't be any new elections."
In response to his remarks the crowd chanted: "Yes, yes without you."
    The embattled strongman, who has has been in power for 26 years, is facing renewed waves of pressure from inside and outside the country, after fresh strikes, angry hecklers, international condemnation and a direct challenge to his position left him clinging to power.
    Independent observers have criticized the country's August 9 election for not being free or fair. And much of the international community has expressed solidarity with widespread protests, piling pressure on Lukashenko to give in to calls for another vote. At home, the leader lost the support of state broadcasters -- who aired shots of empty studios after staff walked out in protest.

      Amit Shah admitted to AIIMS days after recovery from the covid-19.On Monday night,Amit Shah was admitted to AIIMS , days after he recovered from the corona virus. Amit Shah is currently under observation at AIIMS. A team of doctors led by AIIMS Director Dr Randeep Guleria is monitoring his condition. AIIMS has said in a medical bulletin that Amit Shah has been complaining of fatigue and body aches for the past 3-4 days. "He is comfortable and continuing his work from hospital," said AIIMS on Monday morning. Amit Shah had tested negative for coronavirus on Friday, after receiving treatment for around two weeks at the Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon. Amit Shah was on home isolation after his recent release from hospital. 55-year-old Amit Shah, who had tested positive for coronavirus early in August, had said that on the advice of the doctors, he will be in home isolation for the next few days.

    India, Bangladesh discuss COVID-19 assistance, revival of economy and increasing connectivity post-pandemic

      Alarmed over Bangladesh’s closeness with China, India dispatched its Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla to meet Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Dhaka. Shringla in first foreign visit since the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak arrived on a two-day visit to Bangladesh and called on PM Hasina who appreciated the fact that PM Narendra Modi sent Shringla to Dhaka.
