Nagaland’s district Kiphire reports first Covid-19 positive case, Assam reports 10 more deathcases

  Nagaland has reported 38 new positive cases for Covid-19 in the past 24 hours and with the new cases the state tally has gone up to 3,558. “Update! 38 new +ve cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed out of 615 samples tested,” health minister Phom tweeted. The health minister informed that of the new cases, 29 have been detected in Dimapur, 7 in Kohima, and 1 each case has been detected in Kiphire and Wokha districts. “Necessary contact tracing has been activated and all primary contacts are under self-isolation,” the health minister said. According to the latest report, prepared by the Nagaland COVID19 war room, the total number of positive cases in the state reached 3,558. Nagaland currently has 1,880 active COVID19 cases. A total of 1,664 patients, who were earlier infected by COVID19, have been discharged from various hospitals or Covid Care Centres across Nagaland after they tested negative. Grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya will be ready in next 36-40 months: Champat Rai

    The General Secretary of Shri Ram Janambhoomi Teertha Kshetra today said that construction of Grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya will be completed in next 36-40 months. The construction will be such that it can stand for at least the next 1000 years. While addressing a Press Conference in Delhi, Champat Rai said "only stone will be used in the construction of Ram Mandir. Iron won't be used at all for the construction." Rai further said, "The best experts from Larsen and Toubro are involved in the construction of Ram Temple In Ayodhya." Shri Ram Janambhoomi Teertha Kshetra has requested people to come forward and donate Copper rods for construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Copper is expected to give temple more durability. "Copper strips and rods will be needed for construction of Ram temple. In the starting we will need around 20000 copper strips and rods, hence we request people to come forward and donate copper," he said.

India, Bangladesh discuss COVID-19 assistance, revival of economy and increasing connectivity post-pandemic

  Alarmed over Bangladesh’s closeness with China, India dispatched its Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla to meet Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Dhaka. Shringla in first foreign visit since the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak arrived on a two-day visit to Bangladesh and called on PM Hasina who appreciated the fact that PM Narendra Modi sent Shringla to Dhaka. During the meeting, both the countries discussed ways to co-operate on containing the coronavirus pandemic, including on therapeutics and vaccine. The revival of the economy in a post-pandemic world and enhancing connectivity was also discussed. During the meeting, the two further discussed security-related issues of mutual interest and proposal for the travel bubble for business, official, and medical travel amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Siddharth Pithani opened door of room where Sushant was found dead and brought his body down:

  Sushant's house help Neeraj told Times Now that it was Siddharth Pithani who opened the door to the actor's room and cut the rope from which he was found hanging on June 14 to bring his body down. The last person who spoke to Sushant Singh Rajput before his death on June 14, his house help Neeraj, has revealed that it was his flatmate and creative manager Siddharth Pithani who opened the door of the room where Sushant was found dead. Pithani cut the rope from which Sushant was hanging and his body fell to the bed, Neeraj spoke exclusively to  Times Now's reporter.   Neeraj said that Sushant was certainly suffering from some illness which is why he took the drastic step. "Sushant asked for a glass of cold water before he was found dead about 1-1.5 hours later," Neeraj said.

Uttar Pradesh Health Minister Atul Garg tests positive for corona virus

  Health Minister Atul Garg requested all those who came in contact with him recently to get tested for coronavirus. Uttar Pradesh Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Atul Garg, said on Tuesday that he has tested positive for COVID-19. Atul Garg requested all those who came in contact with him recently to get tested for the disease. "On August 15, RTPCR test was done and I had tested negative. Yesterday, in the rapid test conducted at around 9 pm, I tested positive. People who came in contact with me from August 16 to August 18 should get themselves tested," he said in a tweet in Hindi.

"He is comfortable and continuing his work from hospital," said AIIMS on Monday morning. Amit Shah had tested negative for coronavirus on Friday, after receiving treatment for around two weeks at the Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon. Amit Shah was on home isolation after his recent release from hospital. 55-year-old Amit Shah, who had tested positive for coronavirus early in August, had said that on the advice of the doctors, he will be in home isolation for the next few days.

Delhi HC directs DU to conduct final-year undergraduate exams from 14 Sept

  The high court on 7 August had directed the university to conduct online open-book examination (OBE) for final-year students.   The Delhi High court on Monday directed Delhi University to conduct physical examinations for final year undergraduate students from 14 September. “We are of the opinion that the University should expedite conducting physical examinations so that the entire process can be over at the earliest. Though we are informed that at least two weeks are required after the on- line examinations are over on 31.08.2020, for the University to gear up, we are of the opinion that physical examinations should commence by 08.09.2020. However, since Mr. Sachin Dutta, Senior Advocate pleads that that would be too shorter a time and there is immense pressure on the available manpower, Delhi University is directed to commence the physical examinations by 14.09.2020."    Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, chairperson and managing director of Bengaluru-based Biocon Ltd, tested positive for coronavirus on Monday. “I have added to the Covid count by testing positive. The news of Shaw testing positive comes at a time when Bengaluru has seen a sharp surge in Covid-19 cases since the beginning of July. New Zealand Prime Minister delays election over covid-19 New Zealand’s election has been delayed by four weeks, to October 17, because of concern over the spread of coronavirus in the country, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced.
